Our Work
Micro enterprise
Our donor funds are multiplied by village-led small business projects like agriculture, animal stockbreeding, and other relevant micro-business. We’re constantly seeking to improve and expand this model of “giving multiplication” with small businesses that will produce the resources necessary with the goal to achieve self-reliance for families and individuals. It’s our hope that through this method, our teams in the village can become more self-sufficient in their work to care for those who have no hope.
Direct support for Fr. Gisore Jean and his family
Fr. Gisore Jean is Sr. Pastor of Christ Rois / Muhumba Anglican Church. Christ Rois is a centerpiece of the community and the majority of its members are orphans and widows impacted by the genocide of the Banyamulenge people. Because of the great poverty of most of the members, Fr. Gisore receives very little stipend and what little money is collected goes back into the ministry. We are committed to sharing our treasure to assist in his personal stipend to help his family's needs. Recently we were able to pay for an emergency appendectomy for his wife Jennette. We have also been able to assist Jennette in stocking her food store to help support the family. We strongly believe that when you give a persona fish, you feed them for a day. But when you teach them to fish, you feed them for a lifetime.

Alpha course

Fr. Gisore Jean ( John) has been working on bringing the gospel to individuals and families in an easy manner. He has created a prison ministry using the Alpha course. Many times these men are the very people that have been arrested and charged with genocidal crimes against those in the community.
Alpha started out as a short course at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB)- an Anglican church in London. It was designed as a basic 10-week introduction that unpacked the basics of Christianity. Each session examined a different question and encouraging the participants to discuss the topic and share thoughts and ideas.

Community food distribution

La Mission de Dieu au Congo has joined with other American and International ministries to supply much-needed food. From natural disasters such as floods and volcanoes to people displaced from their homes due to relentless attacks from Mai Mai rebels. It is our goal to be able to send funds each month to enable them to have a consistent and reliable distribution that those in need can rely on. Currently, our offerings are as needed, and often times people go days or weeks with no food. Our donations go directly to Fr. Gisore Jean and the ministry team at Christ Rois. They are able to receive the funds and buy rice and corn from local vendors without fear of local militias and other agencies confiscating it before it gets to those most in need.

Fr. Jean received a great blessing to share with the community of Nyangezi. Where many refugees have sought shelter from the genocidal attacks on the Banyamulenge people. Thank God and Bukavu Anglican diocese from which he delivered them to assist the refugees. Today they assisted 157 families which have almost 1000 people as you can see in the pictures below this message of what we did.

Many times when Fr. Gisore Jean delivers supplies to the refugee camps, he must go by boat because the roads are patrolled by rebel fighters preventing supplies to get to the camps. There are over 3,000 displaced people from Bibogobogo. Since their arrival at this place, they have not yet received any assistance from local or international humanitarian organizations. They live in deplorable conditions beyond modern understanding. They all sleep in a church, women are giving birth in such tough situations without clothes for the babies, sleeping on cement without mattresses because they left all their belongings and fled.
They are calling all people with caring hearts and compassion to be their voice and rescue them in this vulnerable life.
