Reverend Jean Gisore was born in 1976 in the Eastern province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to a Christian family, he studied Theology at the University In Bujumbura in the faculty, Jean is the Senior Pastor of Christ Roi Muhumba Anglican Church, he is the husband of Jeannette and the proud father of 5 wonderful kids.
He was ordained as a deacon in 2016 and as a priest in 2017 at Christ Roi Anglican Church, he is also the Alpha Course Ministry coordinator for his diocese in Congo.
Jean'sheart for serving the underprivileged people in his community has led him to labor tirelessly to fulfill the great command of loving your neighbor as yourself. His vision is to help those in need both physically and spiritually.
In late 2019, Rev Jean connected with Scotty Weeks, a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. At first, Scotty felt called to reach out and connect with John due to their mutual connection in the Anglican Church. Over the next several months they built a strong bond of mutual love for the Lord and the passion to help those in need. Little did either of them realize just how much God would use them. Rev Jean connected Scotty with Congolese advocates in the US and Scotty connected Rev Jean with individuals in the US that would come alongside him in prayer and occasional support.
It didn't take long before God began to use this network in amazing ways. With the help and support of Missio Dei, Panama missionary pastor, Fr. Marc Omar's help and support, we partnered up with Fr. Mark Ball of Missio Dei, Houston, TX. Fr. Mark has a heart for missions and outreach. He agreed to support the ministry with logistics and advisory support.
La mission de Dieu au Congo is truly an international ministry. But unlike so many international ministries we have no overhead. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the ministry at Christ Roi Muhumba Anglican Church. We encourage you to connect directly with Fr. Jean, his family, and members of the communities to build lasting friendships and blessings with those impacted most from your prayers and support.
